EMPLOYMENT NETWORK SERVICES
Program Description
Introduction: Ability Building Center’s
Ticket to Work Employment Services offers people who receive
Social Security benefits the opportunities to become
more self-sufficient. These services are available
throughout Southeastern Minnesota and have facility locations
in Olmsted and Houston Counties.
Ability Building Center is a registered Employment Network
(EN). The Social Security Administration issues “tickets" to
eligible beneficiaries who can obtain employment services
from any EN he or she chooses (Ticket to Work is a voluntary
program).
Those Served: Individuals currently receiving Social
Security benefits and have a ticket from the Social Security
Administration meeting the following criteria:
- Have a desire to eliminate monthly SSA cash benefits
- Have the ability to work at/or above Substantial Gainful
Activity (SGA)
- Possess a positive work history with an identified
job goal
- Want to maximize earning potential
and expand work opportunities
- Are 18 to 64 years old
Services Offered to Participants:
- Develop an Individualized Work Plan (IWP)
- Assistance identifying support needs and job accommodations
- Counseling and/or assistance
with job seeking skills, job interviews and labor market
trends
- Assistance developing job leads and completing
job applications
- Assistance developing customized resumes
and cover letters
- Provide job coaching to assist with
on the job training
- Provide assistance developing positive
relationships with co-workers and supervisors
- Provide
long-term job retention and/or career advancement support
- Provide
community advocacy resources
