Center Based Employment

An employment program that provides work experience and support services for adults with vocational limitations. Individuals involved with this program will be assisted in improving and/or increasing their work skills and preparing for potential community employment.

Admission Criteria

  1. Must have completed a Vocational Evaluation or have adequate vocational information.
  2. Requires and desires a structured work environment.
  3. Should be able to maintain attendance and punctuality with no more than one unexcused absence/tardiness per month.
  4. Be capable of caring for personal needs, toileting, eating, mobility, medication administration, etc or have a personal care attendant.
  5. Have an identified source of funding support.

Exit Criteria

Positive

  1. Placement
    a. Ability Enterprises
    b. Community Based Supported Employment
    c. Competitive Placement
  2. Enrolled in college or vocational school in order to pursue educational and/or skills training goals
  3. Retirement, resignation to participate in more appropriate programs, alternative resources, etc.

Negative

  1. Individual is unable to maintain acceptable functioning in order to meet Center Based Employment criteria
  2. Individual refuses to work toward individualized program objectives
  3. Individual terminates program or no longer expresses or demonstrates interest in being involved in the program.
