ABC Works

Ability OptionsAbility Options (AO) - is a licensed program designed to meet the needs of individuals who no longer have the desire or ability to work full time. Often participants in this program are older and/or have more medical needs. AO is a recreation and leisure program that promotes growth and activity, and many ABC participants spend time in AO to complement the time they spend in one of our work programs.

Staff and participants collaborate on a weekly calendar of activities that include activities such as craft making, baking, music, and exercise as well as community-based events like visiting museums, the theater, galleries, and the library. Participants in AO also volunteer at Maple Manor Nursing Home and at the Senior Citizen Center in Rochester.

Ability Options Highlights:

  • Highly-trained staff
  • Transportation to and from community-based activities
  • Clients may combine time in AO with time in vocational program
  • Broad range of activities provides a rich experience
