Houston County Banquet and Other News
Expanded From ABC's December 2008 Newsletter

It’s been an exciting time here at Woodland and in Houston County since the last newsletter. Judy and Helen have done a great job of providing support and leadership as we transition and explore new and exciting ways of assisting our participants as well as each other. Our staff here in Houston County has really done a wonderful job of working as a team when needed.

Woodland

Here at Woodland we have been busy in all aspects of production. We are meeting our goal of producing 240,000 vials per month, our Kerndt Livestock Products seem to be more popular than ever, we are expanding our community work sites with the help of ABC Works, and Helen has been as busy as ever with job placements. Woodland also recently donated a large surplus of clothing to those who need it in the Rochester area. Through all this our Woodland team has surpassed 900 Safety days and is looking forward to 1000!!!

On October 23rd we held our annual Houston County Recognition Banquet at the Four Seasons Center in Caledonia. Our theme this year was “Grow with Us”, and was symbolized by a live tree decorated with the many different areas of support provided by ABC. This tree was then planted at ABC Works in LaCrescent to continue to grow as a perpetual symbol of ABC and our commitment to finding new ways to assist others.

There was a wonderful turn out again this year. We would like to thank all the benefactors, volunteers, and board members that attended. We really appreciate you making the trip. Other awards given were: the Business Partners of the Year to Kerndt Livestock Products from Woodland Industries and the LaCrosse School District Nutrition Program from ABC Works.

Each one of these people and businesses were honored because they have been so wonderful to work for and along with this past year. Together everyone has provided opportunities and made great efforts toward the common goal of providing the best service and quality possible for everyone involved. We are looking forward to making our continued partnership; thank you everyone.

Woodland would also like to thank families of our participants and other service agencies whom we work so closely with throughout the year. It’s our pleasure to be involved with such wonderful people.
