TICKET TO WORK at Ability Building Center

Ticket to Work is a federally-funded program that provides tools for people who receive Social Security benefits to become more self-sufficient. Eligible beneficiaries are issued a ticket by the Social Security Administration which they can then use or “cash in” to receive a variety of services from Ability Building Center.

Services provided under the Ticket to Work program can include:
  • Working with ABC staff to develop an Individualized Work Plan that lists goals, objectives, and more
  • Assistance identifying support needs and special job accommodations
  • Counseling and assistance with job seeking skills, job interviewing skills, and labor market trends
  • Assistance developing job leads and completing job applications
  • Assistance developing customized résumés and cover letters
  • Job coaching to assist with learning the new job, and to develop positive relationships with co-workers and supervisors
  • Providing long-term job retention and career advancement support
  • Helping to develop a network of community advocacy contacts and resources
