Employer of Record Services operates out of ABC Works in La Crescent/Caledonia. The Service assists clients in their efforts to direct their own supports. Clients recruit, interview, hire, determine wages, schedule and supervise their own support workers. ABC Works provides support with specific employment related tasks. Clients or their representatives are considered Managing Employers and ABC Works is considered the Employer of Record for their support workers.
Employer of Record Services can assist in the following areas of the employer/employee relationship:
- Verifying citizenship
- Completing Department of Human Services Background Checks and driving record checks
- Issuing paychecks
- Withholding and filing required employment taxes
- Providing workers compensation and liability insurance
- Providing consultation on employment related issues as requested
